1. Sato-Oya (Foster Parents) WANTED!

SAKURA PROJECT through "SAKURA Scholarship Scheme"provides educational support for hilltribe children in need due to the financial and family problem. We look for sponsors (Sato-Oya or Foster Parents) who can provide continuous support to assist children to attend schools. Annual Foster Parents membership fee for primary and junior school children is \60000, and that covers the costs for accommodation, education, and medical care for a year. Minimum length of sponsorship is 3 years. When you become Foster Parent you will receive the photos and profiles of children as well as a few letters a year from foster child telling you how they are up to. You can also come and visit your foster child to the SAKURA HOSTEL to deepen your friendship. Please contact SAKURA PROJECT for details.

2.Sakura Fund

SAKURA FUND (\3000+ / share) : Sakura Fund is used for SAKURA HOSTEL, fixtures, facilities for schools in the mountain, and education for children in the mountain. For those who made contribution, we will send our newsletter "Sakura Tsushin" Please check here for more info.

3.Second Hand Clothing, Stationaery, and Daily Goods

SAKURA PROJECT distributes second hand clothing and goods to the children and people in need in mountains. Please send them to the following address by SAL or Surface. We ask senders to burden the necesary costs.

4. Local Volunteers and Translaters

SAKURA PROJECT THAI looks for volunteers who can translate between Thai and Japanese. The work involve translating the letters of foster parents and foster children, from Japanese to Thai, and also Thai to Japanese. Also, we invite Japanese teachers who can read the Thai characters and can have daily Thai conversation. Those who live in northern Thailand, and can come to the Hostel a few times a week would be very welcome. Even those who do not live in Thailand, it is possible to translate via post ot internet.
