Flight Attendants

Five flight attendants flew to five different places from five different UK airports on five different airlines on different days last week. From the clues given can you work out who went where, from where, on what airline and on what day?

Flight attendants: Claire, Greg, Julia, Meg, Simon

Airlines: African Air, Chaste, Easy Peasy, English Airways, Westward Air

UK Airports: Edinburgh, Gatwick, Glasgow, Heathrow, Manchester

Foreign Airports: Hong Kong, Johannesburg, John F. Kennedy, Miami International, Shanghai

Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

(NB: For the benefit of those whose geography is a little rusty, Hong Kong and Shanghai are in China, JFK and Miami are in the USA and Johannesburg is in South Africa. Heathrow and Gatwick Airports are in the London area, Manchester is also in England, and Glasgow and Edinburgh are in Scotland. The USA is to the west of the UK, South Africa to the south, and China to the east!)

1.    Strangely enough Westward Air does not fly westward from the UK!

2.    Julia flew out after Greg (who didn’t fly to Miami) but before Simon.

3.    English Airways flight was after Easy Peasy’s flight, and the flight from Glasgow departed before the flight from Edinburgh.

4.    Greg is employed by Sir Ronald Brixton's Chaste Air, which does not fly to Shanghai.

5.    Claire lives in London so she works for an airline that flies from there.

6.    The flight from Heathrow went to JFK Airport, New York and the flight from Manchester departed on Friday.

7.    Easy Peasy Airline, owned by Greek tycoon Stavros Popadopoulis, has a policy of only employing male flight attendants, arguing that in the past only female flight attendants were employed and they are trying to redress the balance! They fly out of Gatwick Airport.

8.    African Air only has a few routes and they are all between the UK and Africa. They don’t fly on Fridays.
